MitID

The Danish national eID is called MitID and is each citizen's personal key to digital services in Denmark, including self-service solutions provided by the public sector. You can read more about how to get MitID here.

Get started with MitID yourself

You can get started with MitID yourself, if you

  • are a previous holder of a CPR number and wish to re-entry Denmark
  • have an administrative CPR number (issued by SIRI)
  • or have a personal tax number.

Please note that in addition to meeting one of the abovementioned requirements, you need to hold a biometric passport with an embedded microchip in order to get started with the MitID app yourself.
